Tucson By Choice!

Ordinary For The Rest of America. Extraordinary For Tucson, AZ

Snow and rain on Pusch Ridge, Oro Valley, AZI remember being in Washington State when the headline in the local newspaper said "30 Straight Days of Rain."  I had flown to Seattle to hire a salesperson for OPEX Corp's northwest territory.  I asked one of the applicants whether the clouds and rain made him feel closed in.

"Where are you from?" he asked.  When I told him I lived in Tucson, AZ, he countered "Don't you folks down there feel exposed?!"

Winter rains bring March flowers in the desert southwestWe're fortunate to get twelve inches of rain in an entire year.  That means that when it comes, we rejoice.  We're not glad, or happy to see it.  We rejoice!  Rain is a joyful thing to Tucsonans.  This photo above is more than rain.  Below elevation 4,000, it was rain.  Above that elevation, it was snow!

You know what that means?  In March, the desert will be covered with blossoms--a veritable carpet of flowers.

Here are a couple of sneak previews.

March blooms if we get winter rains.
