There is a joy to be had in color. This pot of geraniums, basking in the morning sun, sits just inside our front door. It welcomes friends to our home in the secluded community of Tucson Estates II, on the western flank of the Tucson Mountains.
Color is free, or, in this case, almost free.
I think this plant set us back $1.96 when we bought it at Home Depot last spring. As it grew, we kept re-potting it, and now it's nearly three feet across.
It's in difficult financial times that I appreciate more intensely the joys that life brings. Joy is not associated with the things money buys, except perhaps for a moment.
No. Joy comes spontaneously when we see the beauty which surrounds us in the daily living of our lives.
Enjoy our geraniums.
And one last thought before I go back to bed for another two hours: the serendipitous relationships that come from blogging in the Rain bring me joy.
You bring me joy.
Really!
