Metal Art In Tucson

The top photo is a panel in a fence in an industrial area of Tucson.

I took the photo standing inside the fence looking out.  The pattern of the cutout was repeated over and over, and it sure looks cool!

Tucson has more metal art than any other city I've lived in.  Many of the gates, even in relatively modest homes, have wrought iron patterns of desert scenes and animals.  Others have cutouts similar to this one.  Some, like this, are a reverse cutout.  Others have the cutout itself worked into the gate.

The University of Arizona has some outsize metal art pieces.  One which comes to mind is near the new swimming facility on Campbell.

(And now that it's come to mind, wouldn't you know that I have no photo of it?!)

Just east of Gates Pass, the International Wildlife Museum has several life size bronzes outside, along with an outsize bronze lion which is four times (+/-) life size.

This life size elk is my favorite.
