Tucson By Choice!: Stormy Morning Sunrise, Caddo, Oklahoma

Stormy Morning Sunrise, Caddo, Oklahoma

Turbulent skies at sunrise, Caddo, Oklahoma

Paintbrush in a pasture on GlenMar Ranch, Caddo, OKThe crescent moon and the morning star were visible in the eastern sky when I started my morning walk at 5:55 a.m. today.  There was something unusual in the way the clouds scudded past, pushed by a brisk westerly wind, and the sunrise was spectacular.

I'm used to a vivid pallette in my hometown of Tucson, Arizona, especially at sunset.  The colors this morning here in Caddo, Oklahoma rival anything I've enjoyed at home.

Nothing materialized weatherwise, and by the time I was headed back down Hat Powell Road to GlenMar Ranch, the morning light in one of the pastures gave me this beautiful little paintbrush to share with you.

We all say that real estate is "location, location, location."  Sometimes I think the location doesn't matter so much as what we bring to our day.

Here's hoping yours is utterly fantastic!

Mike,  either you're a master photographer or you DO, indeed, have such a rich, colorful palette to capture in your photographs!  As always, excellent shots!

Mike, thanks for your beauty from early morning Oklahoma. Oftentimes the beginning of the day can be just as spectacular as the end.

Gary,

We certainly inhabit a beautiful place in the universe.  God is good!

Debe,

Your encouragement is as good as the shot.  Don't you feel you could reach out and touch those dark clouds in the upper left?  Thanks for stopping by to make my day a good one.

Holy smoke, Mike ~ in all my years in Oklahoma, I don't ever recall seeing a sunrise like that.  Must be the cattle rustling you're doing.  Very nice pics, my friend!

Posted by Dreamcatcher Realty / Greater Phoenix Area about 3 years ago

Randy,

With some of these critters, it's more like "cattle wrestling."  LOL

I hate coming to your blog because I become mesmerized by your stunning photography and then I lose all sense of time.

Now where was I?  :)

Bruce,

It's just plain FUN!  Thanks for hating to come here, and then overcoming those feelings long enough to comment.  LOL

Mike, the one thing I have missed about Kansas is the sky.  It appears that Oklahoma has that same sky going on!

I never saw such a beautiful sky at 5:55 am maybe because I don't get up that early. I might have to check it out to see what our sky looks like at that time of the morning. Thanks for the photo.

Hi Mike, You are doing a world of good for the Oklahoma Tourism Dept.  They may not know it, but you are.  Thanks for the email. We have enjoyed the grandkids.  Sorry the schedule didn't work out to meet up.  Love the photos.

Judi,

There's always a next time!  We sure enjoy Oklahoma, my Darlin' an I.  This morning finds us on our way home to Tucson.  We drive back and forth, and I'll be looking for blog material on the way.  All the best,

Terry,

It was the prettiest sunrise of the week.  Thanks for commenting.

Carol,

Amen to that!  We got 'em all done except for one new mother who won't come up and two of the bulls.

Robert,

Thanks for the feature; I lucked out with some great clouds.

Lola,

Thank you!  Doesn't it just make you smile to look at it?!

Mike,

You're welcome!

Sharon,

I do love taking pictures.  Some of 'em turn out okay.  Most get the delete key.  :)

Bill,

It's good to see you; thanks for stopping by.

Charles,

Yes it is.  Thanks for commenting.

Marchel,

I guess that Kansas sky is moving south.  :)

Mike,

I hope you had a good ride!

Kate,

I do like red!  I like the clouds in the foreground in this particular photo, too.  Dark and close, with the bright blue sky in the distance.

Bill,

I take a lot of them, and weed out most.  You get to see what's left, and some of them are allright, I guess.

Michael,

Not if I can help it!

 Jesse,

We're pushing that warm weather north.  Expect it in a couple of months...

Sally,

It certainly was!  Hope your day was beautiful too.

Paula,

I'm glad you liked it!!

Hi Mike - That sunrise had me going "Wow!". Inspiring. I was also inspired by your early morning walks, and have been dragging myself out to hike the hills at 5:30. These photos will inspire me to take "the heavy camera" instead of using the iPhone, and hope that I one day have your eye to catch gorgeous shots like these.

Mike - Another great shot! Isn't it wonderful to live in a place that provides these photo ops every day?

Mike,  I hope you print and frame that top one...  it's gorgeous.  Maybe I should get up earlier and enjoy the sunrise once in a while!

Wow!  I am shocked Toto!  Oh wait, that's Kansas.  No, they sing.  They certainly have some beautiful sunrise/sunset scenes!

That's one heck of a sunrise picture. We don't get enough broken clouds here to give us that type of sunrise too often. Sunsets are more common.

Posted by Russel Ray, San Diego Business & Marketing Consultant & Photographer (Russel Ray) about 3 years ago

I lived there for many years, and the sky goes on for miles, the sunsets are pretty too, especially around the lake.
