Who can resist a view like this? The little town of Cedar Run, NJ sits between State Route 9 and the west bank of Barnegat Bay.
At the end of Dock Road, surrounded by the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, you'll find a gem of a restaurant, Antoinetta's.
BYOB, because the arcane NJ liquor laws disallow a liquor license. 5 star seafood is served on white linen tablecloths. The dining experience is unexpectedly elegant for an out-of-the way fishing village on the mainland.
Traveling on Route 9 between Tuckerton to the south, and Manahawkin (Rt. 72) to the north, you'll turn east on Dock Road and wind your way towards Barnegat Bay. The restaurant will be on your right hand side near the very end of Dock Road.
Look for shore birds of all kinds on the salt marshes which line the north side of Dock Road. The website for the restaurant says "Come by car or by boat."
If you come toward sunset, you'll be rewarded by a view like the one pictured below, taken from the restaurant deck. There are only 17 tables, seating 50 total, so reservations are suggested.

Jason, it sure is. Of course you have great seafood in Seattle! Why don't you write a blog post for Localism on your favorite place to take Real Estate clients? I'm adding you as an associate, so I'll be sure to come comment.

This place looks delicious.
Dan, it's almost as good as some places in Florida. Thanks for commenting.
Marlene, thanks for the compliment! You're so encouraging, and I needed that today. I have to Google Brown's in Salisbury. I have family on the eastern shore; maybe I'll get a chance to try the lobster!
Bill & Barbara Jo, thanks for commenting. It was a treat, both visually and gastronomically.
Linda, God created some lovely places in this world, didn't He? The camera is an inexpensive Panasonic with a 10X optical zoom. I love it. I crop photos in that ubiquitous Microsoft accessory--Paint.

I heard that the new Antoinetta's will open in early April of 2009 with the same excellent Chef. The seasonal menu will offer more choices than before. This may be an affordable elegance that I don't want to miss.
Chris,
That's GREAT News! Thanks for commenting.
