150 residents of the gated community called Tucson Estates II showed up for an ice cream social to celebrate our successful implementation of the Neighborhood Watch Program.
Representatives of the Pima County Sheriff's Department attended as well.
Tucson Estates II is one of the safest communities in this city of one million people!
Taxes are low, homes are reasonably priced, and jumbo mortgages are not required!
For the period beginning April 5, 2007 through October 4, 2007, our community crime statistics are as follows:
- Burglary: Zero
- Larceny: Zero
- Stolen Vehicles: Zero
- Vandalism: One
- Suspicious Activity: One
Nestled in the shadow of Golden Gate Mountain on the west flank of the Tucson Mountains, Tucson Estates II is a lovely, safe place to live. And that's the real estate opinion of this Tucson, Arizona mortgage lender.

Candy, we wish it was Tucson Lakes! LOL Unfortunately, our riverbeds are dry except in the monsoon season. We have to go to beautiful places like the hill country of Texas for our water fix. Thanks for stopping by!

Good job in your neighborhood, Mike!
The value and power of knowing your neighbors is reflected here.
Marlene, what is a progressive ice cream social? I'm sure it would be fun, since you suggested it.
Kris, thanks for stopping by to comment!
Adam, don't discount topography as a means of beating the heat. Tucson is surrounded by four mountain ranges. Summerhaven, only 26 miles from Tucson, is an alpine community higher than 9,000' and home to the southerly-most ski area in North America! And on Long Island, don't you spend three or four months mostly indoors to avoid the cold? Come visit Tucson this winter; we'll take you to dinner!
Mike Jacquish, (the other Mike J) thanks for visiting and commenting!
I'm Mike in Tucson (where today's high is predicted to be 80, the humidity 20, and the sun shines on us more than 300 days each year)
Mike...what exactly is the population of this crime ridden area? And just how suspicious ?
I Love it! (Do you live there?)
Bill & Barbara Jo, we've had this program going since we built our home here in 1998. The sherrif's officer who read the statistics commented that he'd like to all the neighborhoods he patrols mirror our program.
Joan, we do live here in Tucson Estates II. It's a gated neighborhood of maybe five hundred homes surrounded by 40,000 acres of mountain desert. And who knows what the suspicious activity was! Maybe me walking in the dark at three in the morning.
Lisa, that's a great question. Our Neighborhood Watch program is completely volunteer. We have no paid Security. Thanks for commenting!

Mike, I think it's great that crime is so low in that area. It seems that the watch is doing some good. We should have such a crime rate in Memphis!
Russ, it's a great program. Take a bite out of crime! Thanks for stopping by to comment.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.
I HAVE A FRIEND THERE IN THE TUCSON ESTATES NAMED LYLE NEFF WHO LIVES AT 5651 ROCKING CIRCLE, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CONTACT HIM AS HIS PHONE HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED. COULD I POSSIBLY FIND OUT IF HE HAS MOVED?
DAVID WAGNER, BLUE SPRINGS, MO 816-228-3452
David,
It's late, so I won't call you tonight. I checked on the Pima County Assessor's site (I have access as I'm a lender) and your friend Lyle Neff is still the owner of record. I'll stop by tomorrow and give him your message.
