Tucson By Choice!: Desert Dreams Casa! Welcome my friend Jill Wheatley to Active Rain

Desert Dreams Casa! Welcome my friend Jill Wheatley to Active Rain

Active Rain has another great addition!  Please welcome my friend Jill WheatleyShe's a quick study.  She signed on this morning, mastered the profile thing, and posted her first blog by lunchtime.  She even added a new community to Localism!

Jills website is www.DesertDreamsCasa.com.  How cool is that for a name?  She's a graduate of that fine institution, The University of Arizona in Tucson.  Unlike 9,999,000 other dwellers in the Old Pueblo, Jill is Tucson born and bred.

One of her favorite haunts is the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum.  Once she figures out Localism, look for a few posts on that subject.

Jill's mission is to help you own "a piece of the awesome Sonoran Desert."  She's real good at it.  Please go make her feel welcome by commenting on her first post!!

Edit:  I asked Jill to send me some info to better introduce her to you.  Here's her email to me, slightly edited.

Mike,

Nobody has ever written an article about me since my mother sent out Christmas letters when I was a child.

I am married to Jeff , who is originally from Michigan, and we have two teenagers who are our pride and joy.

Jimmy is a sophomore at the UA in the school of Engineering and is working out with the ua track team hoping to be a walk-on pole vaulter.

Jalyn is a freshman at Canyon del Oro high school and wants to be a Broadway star.  She is an accomplished actress, singer, dancer as well as a fine student.  She was voted to be part of the homecoming court recently and we got to watch her paraded around the football field in a convertible Model T.

I am a native of Tucson, a nature lover, hiker, photographer and videographer. I enjoy Art and have a hobby of doing mosaics. I have included a picture of our pool which I finished with my own mosaic.  I belong to a hiking group that goes to beautiful, remote places for a week every summer. [That's} me above the clouds at Mt. Shasta in Northern California this past summer.

Our family enjoys ski trips, Rocky Point and the White Mts.  I am involved with Kids Unlimited, a non-profit performing group providing a safe stage for kids ages 4 - 18.  I am also on the Project Graduation steering committee at Canyon del Oro high school and am the chair-elect for the Student Advisory group and the school liaison.  Project Graduation is the all night graduation party put on by the community to keep our seniors safe and give them the celebration of their lifetime.

Before becoming a Realtor in 2005, I was an accountant for 25 years in the Tucson area.  I have also been involved in Property Management in the Oro Valley/Tucson area for the past 15 years.  The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting people, getting to know them and guiding them through the daunting, emotional and important decisions that come with buying and selling their Tucson homes.

Being a Realtor is the best use of my gifts and talents and I'm really happy to be here right now!

Hey Mike - What a great welcome for Jill.  I feel like I already know her. Why don't you bring her to Tuesday night's Meet & Greet (along with everyone else from Tucson).  I'm off to read her blog.  - Calie

What a nice introduction of a new member to ActiveRain.  I'll have to make it a point to stop by her blog and give her a little encouragement.  Thanks for inviting her and thanks for telling us about her!
