The Rotary Club of Tucson sponsored it's second annual Tucson Classics Car Show. My friend Bob Shaff, past president of the club, got me involved last year.
I particularly like the old "woody" cars, and that's what I was looking for when I found Frank Kalbaugh. That's him on the right, standing in front of his 1951 Mercury Woody. Frank is a real estate broker who knows how to put a deal together.
The little sign on the back window next to Frank's right elbow announced that the car is for sale, and I just had to ask!

The answer? $110,000. That price includes an oceanview timeshare in Kauai, Hawaii. According to Frank, it's perched high atop a cliff, and it's just beautiful. That intrigued me.
I searched Active Rain for a REALTOR in Princeville, and found James G. Pycha. I called James, and he filled me in on the Ali'i Kai II resort, and said to call back if there's anything else he can help me with. Love AR!
Call Frank at the number above if you would like to talk with him about the car, the timeshare, or both! Here's a better photo of the Woody:

I'm not that big a fan of Woodys, but I do like classic cars from the 60's. I'm a little spoiled by modern technology like air conditioning, and power steering, so I don't have one yet.
Larry,
So I'm guessing this wouldn't be your cuppa tea either? LOL

Looks like you're still having beautiful weather there in Tuscon! We had hte fair start this week - and it always gets colder... I think they have a car show there too - I'm going to check it out! THANKS!
Eleanor,
It's gorgeous this time of year. Sixties in the evening, and Eighties during the day. I'll look for your car post!

Good idea to combined the two I'm not a car buff but it does bring back memories.
Great pictures Mike. Isn't it amazing how much classic cars can be worth? Just this morning I was over at a classic Mustang restoration shop with my son. He has an old mustang, that he just put $12,000 into for a new engine, wheels and other parts. While there we saw a Shelby that was having some work done. Estimated cost of that restored vehicle is approximately $250,000. It's difficult to fathom.
I miss all the car shows that I used to go to in Texas. Those were serious car shows. We have a little car event here in La Mesa each Thursday night during the summer. It's fun to go see all those old cars cruising the streets of downtown La Mesa while sitting on the patio at Por Favor and having some jalapeno nachos and margaritas.
Russel,
This car show was awesome; they had cars from every era--1904 to the present. Thanks for commenting.
Mryl,
It is hard to believe the value placed on old cars! It's an industry unto itself, fueled by baby boomers my age.
Terry,
Not a car buff?! Shocking! LOL

Woodies always get my attention. Kauai is beautiful but the seasons never change! Nice to see you this morning. Will talk to you soon... suddenly my friends are getting duplicate cards!! P.S. Working on a new, non-RE website. XXOO
Susie,
Hawaii is the only state I have yet to visit. With the market the way it is, I don't think I'll be visiting soon.

Mike,
I'm not so sure that I am interested in buying the SWEEEEEEET '51 Woody or the timeshare but I do like your pics.
Ahhhh.... I'm telling on myself, but I remember when gas was only $0.32 per gallon!!! Love your blogs. You're so creative.
Mike - very creative way to sell a 'woody" by adding a time share. I love the woody's and the history of it all. Great post!
Oooo I love that Woody!!!
The car is pretty but I have no interest now the place in Hawaii... now that is intriguing.
Mike - where's Frank's longboard? A 'woody' is never complete without one!
Kent,
Can't say! He's got the hairdo, tho. LOL
Judy,
Buy just the car, and the price is better. Call Frank.
Cheryl,
Wouldn't it look nice in your driveway in Green Valley?
Sharon,
They are cool cars, aren't they?
June,
Thanks for the encouragement. I used to fill up in Camden, SC for .25 per gallon. The car? A Ford Galaxy 500 XL with a 352 4-Barrel engine. Ooh, baby!!
Don,
As always, thanks for stopping by to comment.

Mike,
Bob is creative, I'll give him that and I bet the sign gets him a lot of calls and we all know that's step #1.
Mike -as I am an east coast guy, we were always jealous of the west coast surf lifestyle , that is one bad-a%* car, very cool
Mike - looks like a fun Rotary event, and with such gorgeous weather, hopefully lots of people turned out to enjoy the cars. Its no wonder many Oregonian snowbirds head to Arizona in the Winter with weather like that!

Kurt,
"Little Mike" Carsten?! I appreciate your enthusiasm for the Rain, and wish you much successful blogging. Thanks for stopping by.
Karen,
It was a fun event. They had Brats and Sauerkraut! Are you a future snowbird?
James,
Glad you like it; thanks for commenting.
Cynthia,
Getting the call is the first step! I hope the blog exposure helps him.

I SAW THE WOODY! I was there as well (put a post about it on my "outside AR blog") - my father in law brought out a couple of his classics - a 1913 Ford RCH beautifully restored and a Model T! It was a fun time looking at everything. The woody would have looked great with a longboard like Kent mentioned above! Will check out his condo next time I go back home to Hawaii. Mike -- did you noticed the visor Bob is wearing? They were selling them at the show and so I am curious - did you get one too??!! -- Nice fun reading! Gabrielle
Gabrielle,
Too funny! When I asked to take his picture, Bob asked me to wait while he went and got his visor with the hair sticking up! I didn't buy one, though. I spent some time looking at the 1913 Ford RCH and a Model A truck from 1929. Pretty cool!

Mike - No, I'm not a snowbird yet. I still love it when the snow arrives and ski season arrives. May have to hold out on becoming a snowbird until after the time comes when even putting knee support braces on both knees won't get me down the hill any longer. We know several people from our area that head South to your neck of the woods when the cold weather comes our way, though.
