I've been tagged with the Bookworm meme by Page over at The Road I'm Traveling. Here's how this meme works:
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 56.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next two to five sentences.
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book or the intellectual one. Pick the Closest.

My desk has bookshelves for sides, and they're all full. I reached around to the left, and picked up the closest book, Larry McMurtry's Still Wild.
p. 56 Hus and the boy had gotten the septic tank down the hill and were maneuvering it into position above the hole. They had had to brace themselves against the weight of the tank, Hus in front pulling the rope over his shoulder and leaning so far forward his knewws almost dug into the ground, and the boy at the back of the tank, pushing.

I think I've read all of McMurtry's books. One of the first dissertations I typed when I opened my word processing business in College Station, Texas, back in 1987 was a psychology dissertation about Larry McMurtry.
