Our Congress passed the Bail Out Bill in the middle of the night, having never read the damn thing. Nancy Pelosi is famous for having told us "Everything I do is for the children." Thanks on behalf of the children, Nancy!
I'm reminded of the carpetbaggers in the South following the Civil War. I'm reminded of the Iraqi profiteers after the fall of Bagdhad. The house and the senate didn't win us over with sound, articulate reasoning. The President didn't put the bill out there on the internet for 48 hours prior to the vote, as he had promised during the runup to the election.
No, it was much more like the pastoral scene above.
"Hey! Who's going to stop us?!"
Next time you get the chance to vote, remember this little post. You might want to bookmark it. And keep the change...

Mike,
I reblogged this.... you are "outstanding in your field."
List and Sell (and help your buddies get out from under the fence) Gary @ RentonHomeFinder.com
Mike- I just got a better one from the tax man. But if I place that image here, we might get banned from AR:) I will have to send it to you email. You will laugh your butt off!
Anyways, thanks NANCY for saddling our grandchildren to save your mouse.
I have a post in draft to publish tomorrow morning about my take on this and what we are doing about it. You will love it.
CHANGE? Sounds and smells and looks like more of the same! Katerina
Like we say here in the south. Hell no! We ain't a forgittin'...
Your building consultant for life in the Spring Hill, TN area - Michael
Mike,
The analogy is so right on my friend. The sad part is , they will probably be voted right back into office the next time they run! They being all of those folks that voted for it without knowing what they were voting on!
Right on target.
Where is our voice?? Thanks Mike...perfect analogy!
Lambs going to slaughter. (I don't know why my picture doesn't show...)
Hi Mike - Great post and that picture says it all. Unfortunately there are always those who will take advantage of things to make a profit during difficult times; and at the expense of the common person. We do need to take a serious look at those, especially in Congress, who took advantage of this situation to get their personal "pork" into the bill. The only voice the voter has is at the polling place; we do need to have long memories.
Mike, Like all politicians they say what you want to hear and behind closed doors their agendas are different. They did it this way to please the lobbyists.
Tony,
I'm thinking they did it this way to fatten their own wallets.
Jon,
Spread the word. Other voters need to know how you feel.
Susie,
I don't know why some people's photos show and others don't. An AR mystery.
Linda,
Your photo's missing, too. Thanks for commenting.
Lenn,
There you go!
Don,
Not if we get active politically!
Michael,
That's my hope.
Katerina,
My email is on my website: www.MikeInTucson.com
Gary,
Thanks for being the first to comment, and for reblogging!
Mike in Tucson
Quite the visual Mike, and sadly how many are feeling. Your headline really hits a nerve!
Karen,
Thanks for commenting. I work cattle with a friend and landowner in Caddo, OK every spring. This spring will be my 14th consecutive year working the same herd at GlenMar Ranch, due north of Plano.
The animals have an excuse. They're, well--animals. These men and women in congress were elected to SERVE on our behalf. Some service!
Mike in Tucson
I did have to laugh at the photo. We are in a difficult time and some people will try to take advantage of people in difficult situation. We all need to be alert.
Mike, I guess my picture doesn't show up because I don't spend money here. I think only people who have the listing router or some other paid item like localism has their photo up.
Hidden inside the Bill was $93,000 in petty cash for the politicians up from $30K. Any chance for a re-vote for Ron Paul. I try to keep politics out of my blogging but what an insult to the American People.
Ah Mike...nothing like a "factual" opinion! The gestation period here is 11 months. I wonder what the offspring (outcome) will look like? I shutter to imagine.
Mike - You know that the poeple who voted these fools into office aren't smart enough to read this. I'm just glad that i live in Tennessee, where most of our political offices are held by people who voted against this spending bill.
Wow, Mike,
Every thing depends on your point of view!
Your cattle could have been porn, form another point of view. Some might believe that the bull was helping the cow enjoy life! Trapped in a miserable situation the bull was trying to help, others might say the cow was raped! It's all in your point of view.
You talk about "carpetbaggers" as a bad thing! Today's most notorious "carpetbagger" came to the State Department with her own carpetbag, saving the tax payers the cost of new luggage. It's all in your point of view.
Saint Nancy says "Everything I do is for the children." That bull could say the same thing! The problem with politicos is not what they say no one believes any of them. The problem is what is left unsaid! I believe what Nancy meant was "Everything I do is for the children to pay for!" It's all in your point of view.
"...much mo pastoral scene re like the..." Some may see it that way. Others may see it as making children. The pragmatic may see it as a primal example of taking advantage of an opportunity. More realistic thinkers may see it as screwing the helpless! It's all in your point of view.
Bill
Stuck behind a hard spot and enjoying life! Great way of putting our current situation into prospective. It will be interesting to see how everything turns out. Too funny of a picture.
Laugh while you can. Then check this out: http://www.recovery.gov/
Hi Mike:
OH MY!!! Stuck is right...
Mike, The more I think about where this country is headed the more I get upset. SOMEONE knows what's in this stimulus package, wait til the public finally hears what's in store for U.S. SCR_ WED, yup.
OK Mike. Without a doubt the best title and picture combo I have seen on AR. And soooooooo true!!!!
Mike...
I couldn't even read the Blog post because I'm laughing too hard :)
TLW...ROAR!
Hey Mike - those pictures tells 782 Billion words. Once upon a time I was for the government stepping in. I naively assumed that what they did would tackle the problem at it's source. What a mess!
Couldn't have put it better myself! :-O
Mike,
Very well said!
I just showed my husband this post it's that memorable - you must submit those pics to a photo contest. This needs national attention. Did you take those pics???
Kate,
No, I didn't take them. (See the credit at the bottom left of the post?) I've worked cows since I was a kid, though, first on a dairy farm in upstate NY owned by Happy Rockefeller, and then as an adult for the past 13 years in Caddo, OK. I knew as soon as I saw the first photo what the followup would be. :)
Cynthia,
Thanks for stopping by to comment.
Zilkia,
It's good to see you. See you soon on your blog.
Kate,
Yup!
TLW,
I knew you would like this one!
Broker Bryant,
Thanks. That's an honor, coming from you.
Debbie,
It's a mob mentality on the Hill. Congress is full of half wits who want their share of the loot.
Toula,
You don't see things like this in Forked River or Barnegat. Tuckerton? Maybe. :)
Ann,
They can take my money and my guns, but they'll never get my sense of humor! LOL
Michelle,
Glad you liked it! Thanks for taking time to comment.
Bill,
No rape there. Those are two female bovine.
Larry,
You're saying we're not literate in Arizona? :)
Ron,
The outcome just may be a voter revolt!
Tony,
I didn't know about the tripling of the petty cash fund. It was good talking with you yesterday; thanks for stopping by to comment.
Linda,
There's nothing to keep you from putting your lovely face in as a jpg. That's free. :)
Terry,
The world needs more Lerts! LOL
Mike in Tucson
Oh Mike, this is too great!!! What a great take you have and an even better photo. You always make me laugh! Good job on this one!
Maryellen
Hi Mike- You are hilarious....great analogy! I'll refrain from commenting on the actual subject at hand.....I think it's all been said...they won't hear me anyway:(
Mike,
"Those are two female bovine."
They say the same of Nancy and Hillary, but they've screwed most tax payers! The fact they lack the ... to do the job successfully is just more bad news! It all depends on your point of view!
Bill
PS: For the record it's common among cows! They only get to a ... date once a year.
No "bull" in the content of this post! Are the photos from your jaunts to Oklahoma?
Mike - I must say that is one of the more "descriptive" photos I've seen on ActiveRain to illustrate a post:-)
Mike, right on! I couldn't have said it better, and I love your photos. NP is a nitwit. ;-)
LOL... Mike, you are right on target with this one. I say we vote all the idiots off the island.
Caution would be key when stuck in this position. Same as when dealing with the government or the IRS. Too funny reblog!
All,
Thanks for commenting. I got behind, but I'll see each of you on your blogs! Funny--this has been reblogged more than anything I've written in the Rain. :)
Mike in Tucson
Oh my Mike...I am still laughing about the picture. You photo credit is also making me smile:)
Reagan, Bush, and Bush took us from $1 trillion in debt to $10 trillion in debt. What's another few trilion? LOL
After the last eight years, I'm really excited for our country. We need to cooperate with the other nations of the world instead of being so egotistical. After all, we're only 325 million in a world of over six billion.
I just don't even know where to start with that picture!
OH MY GOSH! I wonder why we let them cram our head under the fence in the first place????
We're from the government and we're here to help. Yep!
Doreen,
That cow put her head under the fence all by herself. We do the same thing when we don't get involved politically.
Janie,
Well, thanks for commenting anyhow. See you on your blog.
Mike in Tucson
That is my point. Too many believe what they hear and on top of that, don't even bother to vote.
Hi Mike, I was reading one of your other blogs and then you mentioned something about a cow...I came a runnin' here. The photo & your writing, well let's just say I'm glad I stopped by. Thanks so much for this blog, love it.
